ya big ben was fo sho the best qb in 08. a close second had to be manning or warner. ben could have just played it safe, he had the best d in the nfl but still had to win a few games in the 4th quarter.

i agree with big ben, but warner is my choice even with those receivers.

I think Ward got it bang on - the one with the ring.

Peyton Manning won the MVP, completed like 23 passes in a row, had a bunch of comebacks, lead a like 10 game winning streak. I am a biased colts fan though. Also loss to chargers hurts his case

Warner should not be considered, he had too much stuff go wrong at the end of the regular season.

Drew Brees almost broke the passing yards record, but he failed to lead his team to the playoffs like Manning did.

Roethlisberger had so much bad rep last season until the playoffs. Then once he got in he was amazing. This is a really hard choice.

All of the quarterbacks went hot and cold. Early on it looked like Warner was it, then favre, then brees, then manning, and then roethlisberger

Well considering that he had no recievers and tied with the Giants setting the record for fewest turnovers in a full season I would have to go with Pennington. He lead a few comeback wins and did it with the likes of Camarillo, Ginn, and Bess to throw too. All other QB's listed above have very good reliable weapons to throw to, and that is my case for Pennington.

You make some valid points, however, much like in Ryans case, Pennington had the huge benefit of playing with a great back who helped take the pressure off of him..

Yea but unlike Ryan, who had Roddy White and Michael Jenkins to throw to, Pennington had a bunch of no namers and a punt returner.

Pennington had a good year, I won't dispute that. I will be done with the carrier total for him as well as everyone else on a couple days. I am curious to see how well he holds up..

Just out of curiosity, if you could pick any QB to lead your team next year based off last years performance, would you pick Pennington?

If the question were posed to me, I would take Manning off of last years play alone. Otherwise I would probably take Brady. IMO you couldn't go wrong with either..

    It's definitely NOT Pennington.

Pennington was pretty solid and had a hell of a completion percentage. I think the offense was also tailored to his playing ability. He doesn't have a cannon. I'd say he's up there.

The best IMO is Manning. He is on his own level not only as a QB but as a football player, period.

The most clutch is Big Ben.
