In the wake of a suggestion from Commissioner Roger Goodell at the league meetings in March that a vote on an expanded NFL regular season "could" happen at the next round of ownership meetings in May, it's unclear whether that "could" will become a "will" or a "won't" when the guys who write the checks get together next week in Ft. Lauderdale. According to Liz Mullen and Daniel Kaplan of Sports Business Journal, "several league sources" have said there will be no vote and Jets owner Woody Johnson has said that it won't be happening. But Commissioner Roger Goodell said last week that the matter is still up in the air, and a league spokesman who initially told Sports Business Journal there would be no vote later deferred to Goodell's remark. Good. If it's going to happens I want it to take it's time, be well thought out and executed. Don't need them trying to rush this to make more $$$ faster.
Hope they do it... only downside is that if they keep adding games it kind of makes old records useless...sorry Jerry...
