Chiefs Release Defensive End Brian Johnston

    he Chiefs released defensive end Brian Johnston, a seventh-round draft choice last year. He played in nine games last year as a rookie. In recent weeks, the Chiefs lopped four members of last year's draft class, including fourth-round wide receiver Will Franklin, sixth-round wide receiver Kevin Robinson and seventh-round tight end Mike Merritt.

    He's probably more a 4-3 rather than a 3-4 end, so that'll be the reason they have cut him.....

    He came from 1AA originally, or lower, so he has a long learning curve to make it, and not being a 3-4 end probably meant he was surplus to requirements....

    Some team which plays a 4-3 may pick up a potentially solid player given time...
