My First Nationals Game

Well I didn't post this here, but thought I would.

Yes the Nationals suck, but I'm a true fan and will stand by them till I die, even if it means us having these horrible seasons for the next decade or longer.



So my fathers friend who owns Washington Nationals season tickets gave us his tickets to the game on May 24th because here in D.C there is an event called Rolling Thunder where veterans of all wars ride their Harleys and other motorcycles and or cars through D.C for them. Well his friend rides in it and gave us his tickets to the game considering he couldn't go. I usually go to Rolling Thunder, have for the past, 5 years or so, but I thought I'd go to a game instead that I was given the chance.


Well to make a long story short, we were playing the Battle of the Beltways with the Baltimore Orioles, I do not like the Orioles at all considering what their crapty owner tried doing to us, so whenever we beat them I love it. The Orioles lead the series 2-0 and Sunday was the third game.

I get to the park and WOW! Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous, everything went through my head when I saw it. It's just to bad we aren't a winning team so more people could see it.

Well the Nationals get down 3-0, but manage to bring in two runs to make it 3-2. A couple innings later Adam Dunn goes up and hits a 2 run homer, then of course we give the wrong pitch to Jones and he crushes it, making it 5-4. Well we get two guys on base, I believe it was Guzman and maybe Martis, could be wrong. With Zimmerman coming up they didn't want to take a chance so they walked him, loading the bases up for Adam Dunn. Strike, Ball, Strike, Ball, Foul, Foul and then bam, crushed, 400ft or more, Grand Slam, it was beautiful, Nationals won it 8-5 after the 7th inning slam.

My first Washington Nationals game a win, as well as seeing a Grand Slam, couldn't have been any better.

Crap... this reminds me, their not playing in RFK stadium... lol nice ballpark. How much are the cheap seats there?

The cheap seats are $5 each and are actually the best seats in the house, you have a great view from them, can see the Capital and a lot of the city, however you can only buy them on game day, not online or anything like that.

The seats I sat in were $17 each.

That one is much nicer :), that's the one I have on my head right now. The dark cap is nice. But yeah you seriously cannot go wrong with 5 dollar seats.

 

Im glad to see they spelled NATIONALS right on your jersey,lol. I know how it is to be clowned on all the time (LIONS FAN) stadium looks cool.

 

I got that hat because of it being the Memorial Day, July 4th and 911 special. I'm going to probably get the traditional white one as well, but I like the looks of the American flag in the W as well as what it stands for.

 

alot of sentimental value... Can't wait till I quest all the big league stadiums.

Yeah, I don't think he actually died at the stadium, I believe it was on the way to the hospital, but either way it was sad to hear.

 

yeah they did a real nice job on the phillies 2nd home ....

 

Ehhhh the stadium isn't terrible but it's not all that great either. It has NOTHING on Camden Yards (though no stadium does)
Like every DC stadium other then RFK..... it's hard to get to and overpriced. At least you got to go to the one game that the O's didn't beat the Nats that series.

PS..... the presidents race was the most goobered thing I have ever seen at a professional sporting event..... and I have seen ALOT of goobered things at professional sporting events.

I've been to both, and you got nothing on AT&T Park in San Fran. Glad you had fun tho!
And I too got a "Memorial" hat, I guess that's what its called. It actually looks cool.

Awesome dude, I remmember my first phillies game it was great.

 

Have you ever had two guys in front of you on heroin? That happened to me before, that was nuts. It was one of those games where we were playing so good that the crowd was leaping up and down every few minutes and these guys just had their heads down, looking at the ground the entire time. One of them puked too. :\ They got arrested at halftime too, lol.

Great pics, I haven't been to a game since last year. I know we suck, but I don't mind rooting.

Strasburg will probably be called up in September. Though I'm not sure if that's a smart move or not.
