Earlier this morning, The Ticket reported that Hedo Turkoglu of the Orlando Magic has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the team, thus making him a free agent.

Turkoglu opting out of Magic deal, agent says

The first sign that the Orlando Magic won't be able to keep together the team that reached the NBA Finals came this morning.

The agent for Hedo Turkoglu told the Orlando Sentinel the versatile 6-10 forward will opt out of his contract and become a free agent.

"It would make sense for him to opt out," agent Lon Babby told the newspaper. "I can't imagine a scenario in which he would not."

Players can't declare free agency until June 30.
