Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed a group of 252 new professionals at the four-day meeting, preaching the value of making news on the field, not off it. He playfully called out Oher for a statement the offensive tackle made at his introductory press conference in Baltimore. A day after the Ravens selected him 26th overall, Oher told the media, Im trying to learn myself and Im going to give it my all and just do everything I possibly can to beat Pittsburgh. Wow I respect Tomlin alot but this doesnt seem like the place to going calling out a player on another team, and a rookie at that. Dont know how he did it or whether it was all in good fun or not so wont say much more then I am shocked by this
Key word in the article is "playfully". It is all good as Coach made his point about leave it on the field and out of the MEDIA.
Wow obviously I have an issue with reading. Doesnt happene often but when it does I make an butt out of myself. Thanks for correcting me guys. I thought it had to be something like that coming from Tomlin
Mike Tomlin is such a class act that I really find it difficult to make myself dislike him the way I should dislike the HC of my teams rival, and I'm sure Coach Tomlin was just poking the same kinda fun at Oher as Oher was poking at the Steeler nation with his remark. Personally I think what Oher said was in keeping with the spirit of the rivalry and Tomlin's replying to it was in exactly the same vein - what makes this such a great rivalry is that there is gamesmanship in it like this.
