Don't be so quick to make McNair a hero Source: Jason Whitlock, Foxsports.com ========== The essence of this article can't be captured in 3 sentences. I urge you to click the link and read it before gathering a strong opinion about the headline. This is an article about being a father and being a man. Can you be both those and behave the way McNair did? Whitlock explores that question.
i just think there's better things to do on the 4th of july than be w/ your 20 year old hoochi mamma. the man had kids and a family, some things are just more important i guesss....:icon_confused:
I agree with this article. He did some great things on the football field, but it seems as his decisions in life led to his demise. That is not to say I don't expect this kind of thing from a professional athlete or wealthy man, I just don't agree with it.

So this situation automatically erases all the charity work and all the things he did for his community? Yeah, he got caught up in something he shouldn't have, that's understood, but he's a human being, and we make mistakes. His mistake ended up costing him his life, had he ended up going back to his wife, like it seems he was doing (which would have led to her motive of murder/suicide). I don't think this mistake erases everything he's done as a person, he made a mistake, so what? People make mistakes all the time, this one just turned out to be fatal.
I agree with this article, unless it eventually comes out that McNair and his wife were actually seperated, which at this point doesn't look like the case
Even if he was seperated, he still had an obligation to his children, who, like the article says, are the real victims here.
I absolutely agree, but if the two were seperated, I don't think it was wrong to have a gf, and who knows if there were arrandements for seeing the kids which may not have been in his control. There is no question the kids are the victim, and it doesn't look like the McNairs were seperated, but if they were you can't really say he neglected his kids...but no doubt they're victims for losing their dad, and it's really sad.
