Judd [Zulgad] just received a phone call from Brad Childress who said he talked to Brett Favre and that he was informed that Favre is staying retired. Childress cited the daily grind both mentally and physically as part of the reason why Favre remained retired. “I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had background in the NFC and in this division,â€￾ Childress said. “He knows our system inside out … This doesn’t change anything about how I feel about our football team.â€￾

He needs to just enjoy his retirement and chill. Don't enjoy it with too much and cheat on your wife. Do not want Brett to get Steve Mcnaired.

If I am Michael Vick, I just told my agent to call the Vikings.

And if Childress is so happy with his team, why the hell has he been pursuing a QB all off-season?

Nah, I don't see it, Childress is a WCO guy and well we all know that Vick isn't, the Vikings would slit their own throat to pick up Vick, the WCO is very complicated especially in it's vocabulary and plays something that Vick has trouble with.

so Favre is staying retired or real tired...oh well same thing.:lmao:

ESPN's Rachel Nichols confirmed the news with several Vikings players, including kicker Ryan Longwell who received a text message from Favre on Tuesday afternoon. Longwell told Nichols the text read, "I had to decide against it, appreciate your support but I had to make a tough decision." Pro Bowler Jared Allen told Nichols, "I didn't believe it at first, and that's why I called [Vikings coach]Brad [Childress]." Allen said Childress confirmed the news to him. Childress told the paper Favre did not want to put himself through the grind of another football season. "I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had background in the NFC and in this division," Childress said to the paper. "He knows our system inside out ... This doesn't change anything about how I feel about our football team."

    Surgery must not have took.

The more I am hearing this the more I believe it.

My boss just told me he heard that this was confirmed by Favre.

(Like it means anything that it came from Favre's mouth...)

    Retired, eh?

Then how come I get this feeling that when a few QBs go down by mid season, he'll be back (in the news)...like Jason Voorhees?

he just doesn't want to deal with practicing or camp, a few weeks into the season, he'll be coming back. The guy hates surgery and wouldn't have gotten it if he didn't expect to play. He wouldn't have done all that he has done to not comeback. I bet it's a combo of not wanting to practice in camp and not being offered enough money. This is far from over.

I agree 100%. I think he came into Jets camp last season on August 5th and he did that against his own will. I could see him coming back if the Vikings are struggling...

    Like mike said...far from over...
