For eagles fans you guys should check out the andy reid press conference its up on the site they archived it. He shares some storys of jim johnson and what kind of person he was i thought it was a really good press confrence.

 

R.I.P. , he was one of the best D Coordinators of all time.....I saw Andy's press conference and like he said there would not be an Andy Reid era in Philly without him

 

Very true words his defenses were top notch.

i wish his defensive scheme could defeat cancer like it did many an offense. :icon_cry:

 

I know theres a mixture of beliefs on this forum but i believe that jim johnson is in a better place now. He doesent have to deal with the pain anymore. I hope the eagles defense does him proud this year. Hopefully the players have even more inspiration and play there hearts out for him.

22 years in the league..... that just doesn't happen anymore!!! Now that he's gone it's clear that his legacy will last even longer as his disciples continue to receive defensive coordinator jobs and head coaching jobs across the league and his aggressive style of "stop the QB, stop the team" defense will continue to succeed and spread. It won NY a SB not too long ago. Hopefully it can win Philly one this year and we can rest a ring on his grave.

 

Just read an amazing article on Jim, I guess it was in the recent S.I, I was flipping through it yesterday and seen this article, read it.. very good read for anyone who is a true football fan, and especially an eagle fan. enjoy for those who read.

excelllent read. without a doubt we missed jim immensely this season.

 

I'd have preferred a new thread have been created in in the NFC East or General Football section for this story... but yea, it was a damn good article.
