Drew Stanton has been under constant pressure through the offseason and into camp, as some Lions officials said the team was still considering bringing in a veteran quarterback -- presumably to replace Stanton at No. 3. "There's always that possibility," Stanton said. "That's why I'm out here doing everything I possibly can to show them they don't need another (quarterback) around here." Source: MLive.com
That would be too bad, I had high hopes on him after watching him in college......he was stellar just never had any good WR's that would catch the ball
Isn't Culpepper the veteran QB? I think this is a cover up to the fact that they are not impressed with his stuff at camp so far, which isn't a good sign to say the least.
Culpepper has looked ok but if anything stanton stays becuase his contract is nothing where as if Culpepper makes the team we have to pay him about 4 mil and if he were cut we wouldnt be on the hook for it and from everything i am hearing stafford is going to be the starter so there is no point in paying Culpepper to stay on the bench
Im guessing that Stafford is the starter. He is getting rave reviews. What veteran QB is available that is worth two craps? And why would we cut Stanton and have two veteran qbs? That doesnt make sense.
yep stafford will be the starter but its doesnt matter who is out there becuase you only play 1 QB and if it becomes a superblowout and you just take stafford out so he doesnt get hurt in the 4th they would put stanton in and the human punching bag the vet QB doesnt matter which is why they will cut culpepper if he loses the starting job
