When Anthony Henry was acquired in the trade that sent quarterback Jon Kitna to the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz said he wanted Anthony Henry to play cornerback. For the first time in camp this season, Henry also is getting work at safety, the position he would have played in Dallas if he had stayed. The switch to safety also was prompted by Detroit's low numbers there -- only four healthy players: Kalvin Pearson, Marquand Manuel, LaMarcus Hicks and Stuart Schweigert. "They wanted to have the option for me to learn the position just in case we get into the season and somebody goes down,'' Henry said after Friday afternoon's workout. "I know a little bit about (safety) because I played it back in the day. I've done it in Dallas and Cleveland before, but that was only emergency situations -- at the end of the game when we needed a stop and things like that.'' Source: MLive.com
I understand why they are moving him there he is an older CB who has lost a step and has played FS before. The problem I see is that while he has gotten older he was gotten more injury prone. He had a hard time stay healthy at CB what makes them that he will be able to do so at S.
