Oakland Raiders quarterback Jeff Garcia (calf) still has not practiced, meaning it's unlikely he'd play against Dallas. Meanwhile, Bruce Gradkowski keeps getting reps with the second team, but to the untrained eye he seems to be being outplayed decisively by Charlie Frye. Source: Oakland Tribune
lol...even if it turns out Garcia can win more games this year...I don't see the logic. I would think Raiders fans would at least want the competition there with whoever performs the best winning the job. It doesn't make sense just to hand someone the job with a team that needs to win. If Russell beats out Garcia fair and square then he should get the job, if not he should sit.
I agree with both mush and nate that this is a blessing. I really hope that Frye could come good out of this because I would love for him to be our backup in the years to come.
Dude you dont Understand we dont want Jamarcus sitting anymore. This is his team no matter what. What makes u think Garcia gives us the best chance of winning he didnt do crap for detroit,Cleveland, and im guessing if he was so great hed still be starting for the freaking bucs. Im tired of reading the nonsense that garcia should start over somebody whos been there longer is younger has a better arm. Who whooped garcias butt on the field when they went up head to head with the bucs playing for a spot in the playoffs. Jamarcus is our future and it shouldnt be stalled on a mediocre Quarterback. For what maybe an extra win its just plain stupid.
I was not happy to see the Raiders pickup Jeff Gaycia, but J. Russell hasn't proved to me that he was a first round draft pick or even dedicated to play for the raiders, or the LEADER!! GO RAIDERS!!!
I dont know what u want from the guy he put up some decent stats in his first season starting. Garcia played in the canadian league hes a journey man. We have to grow with Russell, Garcia would just be a set back in Russells future. You would sacrifice winning now for winning in the future thats goobered.
