I say this every year when any player misses preseason, not just Eagles. In the years before the internet explosion and media frenzy for player news. It was commonplace for the stars to miss the entire preseason, and no one said a damn thing, only in the last decade has it become such a big deal. I'll start to worry when he is missing games and not playing up to par.
I think it's a great situation. Let Brittle sit on the sidelines and stay in mint condition till week 1, let McCoy get tons of gametime in during the preseason... No complaints here.
It is funny how the internet has changed things. One thing that is different back then a lot of the players that were sitting out were doing so to get their contact done. While they were sitting out they were able to stay in shape. If Westbrook is recovering then he will not be able to do so. My question is it seems like they are changing the time he will return almost every week.
