Cowboys fourth-round outside linebacker Brandon Williams' rookie season is over before it began. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while covering a punt against the Titans. "This kid had a chance to play some plays," said Wade Phillips, who thought Williams could contribute as a pass-rusher this season. "I guess he'll just have to do it next year." Williams, a Texas Tech product who needs surgery to repair the knee, will spend the season on injured reserve.

They were counting on him to be one of the backups this season. This does open the door for Octavin(sp) who had a nice camp.
