If you have had the feeling that Giants backup quarterback David Carr hasn't looked very good so far this preseason, you are not alone. "I'm not pleased with David right now," quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer said yesterday. "I think he's got to be more consistent. There's certain things he has to improve on, I've told him that. He has the ability to play in this league. He's a very, very talented player but he's got to do the things the way we want them done." Source: New York Post
And who would have thought that he would play well? :word10: At this point in his career, I think David Carr has established what he is in the NFL.
When he is behind an O-Line that gives him confidence (like the Minnesota game at the end of last season), he can play well. But this pre-season he has been behind Giant O-Lines (2nd and 3rd units) who have been porous....and he reverts to type with dancing feet.
David Carr is so gun shy it's ridiculous, the guy has been beat all to hell behind a crapty freaking line for literally years and he may never completely be the kind of QB he was viewed to be as a draft pick...too bad. Sacked 76 times as a rookie, and in 05 he was sacked another 68 times any wonder he's not what he was supposed to be??
