The Patriots have made a surprising move at quarterback today, informing backup Kevin O'Connell that he has been waived, according to a league source. O'Connell, a third-round draft choice in 2008, was considered the leading candidate to be the team's top backup to Tom Brady entering training camp. O'Connell struggled in the team's preseason win over the Redskins on Friday, throwing two interceptions.

ive always liked Kevin O'Connell. maybe he will do better in a West Coast offense or something with timing passes. i think his problem was the decision making.

Kevin O'Connell has the physical tools to be great in the league, just the fabled Patriots coaching staff couldn't do that for him.

Still think he's too good to pass over as a project.

TB has a few extra QBs, Minny does too, and KC, and i would imagine either chase daniels or colt brennan get axed in washington

Pats want Eagles QB A.J. Feeley. Just something that hit my radar.
