The 49ers have released quarterback Damon Huard, a 12-year veteran. Huard was picked up in the offseason to be a steady hand if the 49ers ever needed to go to their third quarterback. Huard, however, was beaten out by promising rookie Nate Davis for the role.

I'm kinda excited about what Nate Davis can do. I'm thinking he'll be the starter before the end of the year

    He's kind of brittle too.

he can manage a game if Brady gets dinged up. He's a vet who would be handing the ball off and throwing the ball up to Moss and underneath to Welker. He'd be a good fit.

Predictable. Nate Davis has looked very good in preseason.
