TAMPA, Fla. - When the Texans close the preseason tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, quarterback Rex Grossman is going to play at least a half in an attempt to convince coach Gary Kubiak to keep him on the roster when cuts are made to 53 on Saturday. When they signed Grossman to a one-year contract for the $620,000 minimum, the Texans were hoping he would solidify the third position behind Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. Kubiak has wanted to keep three veteran quarterbacks the last two seasons. Source: Houston Chronicle
Wow. He's really gone low now. From a QB playing in the Super Bowl to questionable about making it onto a 53 man roster. Sheesh.
