Tomorrow may be the official cut-down day, but the Patriots have begun a day early, the team just announced the release of six players. According to their official Twitter, New England has cut: Andrew Walter, Billy Yates, Roderick Rogers, Steve Williams, Vinny Ciurciu and Robert Ortiz. Thirteen to go until the team gets to 53. So the Patriots are only carrying one backup...who is an undrafted rookie? Bit of a risk to say the least...
I'm sure someone else will be in the mix. There's a rumor out there that Al Davis may cut Jeff Garcia, that would be ideal, but one way or another I'm sure there will be another QB. Technically there is a 3rd QB on the roster, but it's a rookie drafted in the 7th round who will be returning punts and playing some WR in Julian Edelman. Someone will be added though
BB typically doesn't make bad decisions typically when it comes to the roster. I'm sure he knows what he's doing
