For the first time in the Coughlin era, the Giants kept seven WRs. The Giants realize receiver is a position with a lot of question marks, so keeping an extra player was clearly of importance. Hagan, who made a nice tackle on a kickoff in the preseason finale against the Patriots, will be asked to contribute on special teams. "He was very noticeable in the spring. At times he stuck out in training camp as a receiver," Coughlin said. "You combine his size with the ability he has as a special teams player, he certainly deserves his spot." They kept 7 WR's because that is where there was a lot of talent....and teams wanted to pick up the losers of the copmpetition once they were cut. The Giants are very likely to do a trade to bring that WR number back down to 6 as you don't have that many active at once. Hagan plays special teams, so his ability gives him extra utility. Expect Sinorice Moss or Mario Manningham to be heading out in the trade.
