According to the Twitter page of Giants beat writer Mike Garafolo, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed DE Maurice Evans off waivers from the Giants. Garafolo believes this is a good move by Tampa, as he thinks Evans has some potential as a defensive end. He is on the active roster, but he doesn't figure to play much for the Bucs' defense this season. Source: RotoTimes.com
It is a good move. I'm surprised he got cut. If Jay Alford doesn't go down we keep Evans and cut Leger Douzable.
Yeah, he could be a good player in time..... The Giants kept the experienced backup because they are looking to maintain a solid backup (who knows gap control etc which will be crucial against the running games in the East this year) behind Osi, Tuck and Kiwi.
