After Monday's practice, head coach Jim Zorn responded to a suggestion that the Redskins had signed a former Giants quarterback solely to help game-plan for Sunday's season opener at New York, saying the Redskins have plans for Andre Woodson well beyond this weekend. He did add, however, that Woodson could be of service to Redskins coaches as they prepare for Sunday's game. "I would say initially that wasn't the reason to have Andre Woodson here," Zorn said. "We looked at him a year ago. We drafted Colt [Brennan], they drafted Andre. With him getting released, we had the chance to take a look at him.... We have a chance with Andre now to develop him a little bit." Told of Coughlin's remarks, Zorn said: "That's something that I'd be frustrated with, too. So I do understand that it makes it look like we're jumping on that. But that wasn't the major issue with the find. He might be able to help us a little bit. He knows their stuff. He certainly knew their snap count, just the obvious things." Source: Washington Post
This was obvious.... "I would say initially that wasn't the reason..." and "But that wasn't the major issue with the find...." certainly don't deny they are making use of his knowledge. Pats/Jets do it all the time .
B.S. - Why would he even bother saying this... especially in the stupid way he said it, lol. That's Zorn for ya. Must spread rep.
