John Madden is back in the NFL as an unpaid "special advisor" to commissioner Roger Goodell. The league announced Thursday that Madden, who retired as a broadcaster earlier this year, would advise Goodell on "matters pertaining to the game, including competitive issues, coaching and personnel development, technological innovations, player safety, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame." "When I retired from broadcasting, I didn't retire from my passion and interest in the game," Madden said in a statement. "This position enables me to continue that." Source: ESPN.com
Now isn't that an odd pair... Kinda like Martin & Lewis. Goodell: Well, John, what do you think I should do about player X being caught with that stripper in the back of that church with all that coke? Madden: Well, Rog, when the stripper invited him in, he zigged when he should have zagged & all ova sudden BAM, he was *sniff* *snort* with his pants around his ankles... Goodell: WTF???
 John Madden's a damn good football analyst (even though he sounds a bit kooky sometimes), so this should be a good thing for the NFL.
