Less than 24 hours after their season-opening victory against the Tennessee Titans, the Steelers have not issued any further news on the injury to safety Troy Polamalu, who hurt his left knee late in the second quarter and did not return. Polamalu sprained the medial collateral ligament and coach Mike Tomlin's early diagnosis was it could be three to six weeks before the five-time Pro Bowl safety returns -- a prognosis that was confirmed last night by a team source. Tomlin and team president Art Rooney II yesterday did not have any more information on the extent of the injury and there may not be any update until Monday when the players return to practice. I just hope it isn't worse then expected. I expect him to be back week 9, after our bye week just to be sure he's 100%.
Its a Real shame for Troy he was having a great game until the injury. I wish him a speedy recovery. The Madden curse strikes again.
Alge Crumpler falling on your leg is hardly "injury prone." But yes, in the past, he's had some issues. He can't help who's falling on his leg though. That's more bad luck than injury prone. I say hold him out until after Week 9 if it's on the severe side...they should be okay until after the bye week.
