Michael Crabtree, drafted 10th by San Francisco, shows no inclination toward signing a reported five-year, $20 million contract (with $16 million guaranteed) the club reportedly has offered. The 49ers hold his rights until the day of the 2010 draft which means if he intends to re-enter the draft, he cannot work out for individual teams beforehand, participate in the scouting combine or even talk to teams interested in his services. If he does not sign a contract with the 49ers by Nov. 17, Crabtree won't be able to play in 2009. Source: San Francisco Chronicle
Who set this deadline? The team or it's a league rule? Anyway, I still think we shouldn't sign him at all.
Screw I hope he goes back into the draft. I can't wait to see his reaction when he slips to the 3rd round.
I can't believe how dumb this kid is...he's costing himself millions of dollars, and is too dumb to see it. Crabtree will be changing tires in 3 years, not that there's anything wrong with that at all, but in comparison to making millions it's pretty silly
I hope this kid realizes what he's costing himself and that his representative's advice is only good for the rep. Too bad the love for the game hasn't pulled him in. Primadonna's suck.
Crabtree, give Mike Williams and Maurice Clarett a call and see what a year away from football did for them....you may have to visit Clarett personally as I'm not sure he's allowed to take phone calls.
