Linebacker Larry Foote is one of the new faces in the Lions' locker room. But that didn't stop his teammates from electing him one of three captains for the season, along with long-time Lions Jason Hanson and Dominic Raiola. "I think that speaks volumes, that he can get that kind of vote from his teammates when he was a guy that got here in the spring," coach Jim Schwartz said Friday in announcing the news. "He's a guy that comes in with some credibility, he's got a couple Super Bowl rings, and his work ethic and the way he conducts himself is what gets him the vote from his teammates." Foote signed with his hometown team as a free agent in May after getting released by Pittsburgh after seven seasons. "It's definitely a humbling experience, and I'm honored that my teammates and comrades would elect me captain," said Foote, who played at Detroit Pershing and the University of Michigan. I was a big fan of foote back when he played for michigan. I was glad that he did a lot for the steelers. I was totally blown away when I saw Larry Foote witha lions Jersey. He is a great addition for their Defence and we all know the lions could use someone that will bring not only quality experiance but leadership. Great choice for a team captian.
