um, i'm seeing a lot of comments in this thread about how 'improved' the saints defense is ................... you may or may not be right but it's way too early to say whether their defense is actually any better. Let's give it a few more games before actually deciding if they're better or not.
Well, they don't have to improve much to be better than they were the last few years. :icon_redface: Currently the Saints have the 7th best defense in the NFL, but we are only one game in. I think this game will be more higher scoring rather than lower scoring, and it will be a war until the end. Points don't tell the whole story. Horrible special teams play by the Saints gave the Lions 3 red zone possessions, and a Mike Bell fumble was returned for a touchdown.
And I remind you. That defense played the Detroit Lions. The same Lions that lost every game last year.
Brees on the road last year had a QB rating of better than 70 in only 3 of his 8 starts. Those 3 games were against the Broncos, Chiefs, and Lions. His last start in Philly he only had a 73.8 rating. If Kolb can just manage the game and the defense makes some big plays, the Eagles have a good shot. I'm going to take the Eagles in a close one, even though I can see them getting blown out at the same time. I don't have a good feel for this one.
Just did the eagles vs saints on madden with kevin as the starter eagles won 23-20 on a last second field goal. kolb had 97 passing yards and 2 tds with westbrook rushing for 109 yards.
