The Dallas Cowboys’ second-year cornerback will start opposite Terence Newman in Sunday night’s highly anticipated home opener against the New York Giants at new Cowboys Stadium. Scandrick and fellow second-year cornerback Mike Jenkins, named co-starters before the regular season, will rotate games as the starter, at least until one decisively pulls ahead of the other. “Of course, it means everything to me,â€￾ Scandrick said of getting the start. “I just want to come out this game and make a lot of plays and just stand out and win.â€￾

Jenkins is a better all around CB than Scandrick. Scan is a better pure man CB, but Jenkins is a better Zone CB.

He didnt have a great game against TB, but our defence as a whole sucked. Newman looked like crap too but people dont comment on that as much

my biggest knock on jenkins out of school was some of the terrible angles he would take but i always liked him as far as a zone guy....honestly i dont know much about scandrick

Scan is a pure man CB. He is very fast and aggressive. As of now he doesnt have much expirience in Zone coverage

Mike to me is a poor mans Malcolm (who I know you dont like) in that he can play any coverage style zone or man. But I see him being a good, not great man CB. One thing Ive noticed about Jenkins is that sometimes he is assertive in man, sometimes he is not. If he can be constistantly assertive, he can be a bump and turn CB

lol poor mans malcolm, funny cause i accused mike of being a potential corner to saftey convertee eventually, just like malcolm.

in a 34, jenkins is what you look for though, a good zone guy....sucks to hear hes blowing coverage so early in the year with scandrick breathing down his neck

He had a very good rookie year in coverage. He had about a 4.3 YPA and a 39% forced incomplete rate, which is outstanding for a rookie. He seems to be gotting alot of heat for the TB game when in fact the whole D played like crap

do the cowboys play alot of man? steelers rarely ever are in man. the CB is rarely ever anywhere up close to the receiver on our D

We are primarily a Man team. Screw our SS is man alot, why do you think Roy Williams has gotten burnt so bad. We were Cover 2 under Parcells, in 2007 we introduced alot of man coverage and last year we went man primarily

damn, steelers play all zone...the only guy i liked for man was mcfadden who is a cardinal. i would NEVER want troy man'd up on anyone lol

I hated when we played NY or Washington because you just knew Shockey or Cooley was gonna destroy RW

I always found it odd that Tuna wanted alot of Cover 2 and then drafts Newman, 5th overall

pure talent i guess, he was 5th overall material

To me Jenkins is a big play waiting to happen. He will break on the ball a lot more so he is in position to make a big INT or to let the WR get behind him for a TD. Scandrick is more of a cover corner he is not going to make a lot of INTs but he is not going to let too many passes complete against him.
