Warren Sapp didn't need to see much tape from Week 1 to stick a fork in five NFL teams. "There's a certain amount of teams that this season is over before it ever begins," the 13-year defensive tackle said on Showtime's Inside the NFL on Wednesday night. "We're talking about Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Cleveland, Oakland. "Those five right there, write 'em off. You talking about blackouts -- be happy (fans of those teams) that you got a blackout, maybe they'll beam a game that means something to you." The quintet of teams Sapp listed all lost their openers, though only the Rams looked totally hapless in the process after getting whitewashed 28-0 in Seattle. Sapp, who ended his career with the Raiders, is known for making strong statements, but fellow analyst Phil Simms piled on, too, though somewhat tongue-in-cheek: "Well, I really can't argue that point." -- Nate Davis Source: USA Today
i can't really argue with it, although if we're going off of this same premise, I'm not sure why he excluded Cincinnati, Tampa Bay, and Houston. They all looked horrible on Sunday too and appear to just be picking up where they left off in '08.
What a goober, I bet he didn't watch any of the games these teams played. Especially the Chiefs and Raiders.
I'm not arguing with that, just that I think a couple of those teams might be a bit better than he thinks. Also, like someone else said, he should include the Broncos and Bengals in his list.
Warren Sapp...lol... THe best thing to come out of that dope's mouth was earlier this week when he said if Kanye West treated his duaghter the same way he treated Taylor Swift, he would strangle him...
I agree with what he said also and yes he should've included Cincy and Tampa Bay. Colin Cowherd said the same thing Monday, he added Cincinnati and Buffalo however to that same list. Now that Buffalo played pretty well Monday night he may have retracted them, I didn't listen to him anymore the rest of the week.
