The New England Patriots honored their 50th anniversary team Monday night at Gillette Stadium. Patriots owner Bob Kraft personally called the Colts kicker with an invitation, assuring him he would make the necessary travel arrangements so Vinatieri wouldn't miss any of his current responsibilities. "I respectfully declined," Vinatieri said. "I told him I was honored and it was cool, but I couldn't do that." Vinatieri didn't bother asking Colts management if it would have a problem with him attending the New England event. "It just wouldn't have been right," he said. Source: Indianapolis Star News
