Fans won't be able to watch the Jaguars play Arizona on TV in today's home opener because the team ended up way short - by an estimated 17,000 tickets - of selling enough seats to avoid a local blackout. Bill Prescott, the Jaguars' chief financial officer, said it's almost a certainty that every home game will be blacked out this year, regardless of how the team does on the field. "Even if we made the playoffs last year, we'd still be in this situation," he said. It all comes down to the devastating economy, Prescott said. If fans don't have money, they can't afford to buy tickets. Source: Florida Times Union News
sucks for the real fans there.... unless they are at the game...but its costly to go to football games nowadays
I was at their stadium a couple weeks ago when they played the Redskins in the last pre-season game. The stadium is really nice, small but nice. Everyone was real nice unlike any other stadium i have been to. There were just as many Redskin fans at the game as there were Jax fans or close to it. That town is 2 busy enjoying their beaches to get involved with a football team. 2 bad, its a nice town.
The Economy is bad everywhere. That's a bullcrap excuse. It's bad in Buffalo yet we sold out our season.
