First of all kevin kolb basicly shut me up because i did not think he was capable of haveing a half decent game. Yes the guy threw 3 picks and had some bad passes but it was his first nfl start. To throw for almost 400 yards your first nfl start was pretty impressive.

From his press confrence i like a couple of things he basicly said took the blame for the loss when it was a clear that it wasent all his fault. Shows signs of a good leader. Also when asked if he is happy that he got almost 400 yards and got some time he said no because they dident win and thats all that matters. Yes we got killed in this game but atleast one thing that we got from this game is we know now kolb is capable of putting together a decent game and the future might not be doomed after all.

What did you guys take from his performance?

Not sure but regardless he showed some positve things in this game.

Watching Kolb on the practice field and in-game at UH his rookie season, he was pretty much thrown to the dogs when he first came into the program. It took him about 3 games to start becoming productive as a QB (our second game was an embarrassment), then a couple more games to start cutting back on turnovers. I think the two years he's had to study the next level of the game from the sideline has really helped him thus far, and he just needs to iron out his kinks with a system to really start clicking on offense.

One of the things that he did well a couple of times today was he wasent afraid of the pressure. He got whacked on some plays that he still completed strikes to his receivers. He still has to work on turnovers though. His picks might have come in garbage time but still.

kolb played well. not great but not bad either. he did something he hasn't done too much prior to this game. i still do not see him as a starting qb but he may still get the chance to prove otherwise and i wouldn't mind being wrong.

to me two plays ended this game before we were 1min into the 2nd half. kolb's int late in the 1st half and the hobbs fumble on the openning kickoff to start the 2nd. game over at that point.

the overall fault has to go to the defense and special teams. both played poorly and both better take it out on the chiefs.

sorry herm, but we're gonna knock the ever living crap out of your team this week.

I don't know what I think about Kolb yet. He seems to make some bad decisions at times, but he hasn't really had much playing time so it may be something correctable.

That's what I noticed about him also. He was a cool cucumber under pressure. The last 2 picks you really can't count because the Eagles were in desperation mode. All in all, I thought it was a good 1st start for the young QB.

umm, you could maybe discount the 3rd int but not the first two.

bigger problem we have is westbrook. mccoy needs to be ready to go this week IMO.

more brilliant clock management from reid ?

or, maybe they figured that was a good time to get kolb real game practice on that play ?

"Rookie mistakes"...they should disappear with time. As an "unbiased fan" and a Kolb hater, I must say, he showed potential and that's the kind of potential I was looking for before I called him McNabb's replacement. If he can string together a couple nice games here, the Eagles brass may have something. He took some major steps in the right direction in my book...

I really think Reid was trying to get the guy 400 yards in a game that was obviously over. If our defense plays like they are capable of, kolb does more than enough to win that game. The defense gave a TD in less than a minute before the half and he took the team down with less than 50 seconds and almost scores a TD as well. His strikes over the middle when getting pummeled showed me a lot. His mistakes are correctable, his intangibles are what impressed me.
