Raiders head coach Tom Cable said he never considered taking JaMarcus Russell out of the game and wouldn't speculate about replacing him in the future if the quarterback continues to struggle. "I just feel like we have to keep moving forward, trying to figure out what is going to help him be at his best," Cable said. Cable took the blame for Russell's first interception, having him throw the ball out of his own end zone. "I thought we could get them in a single-high safety and they bailed out to a two and Darrius fell down on that," Cable said. "The bottom line is I could have called a better play." Of course he didn't consider benching him because that would've been an act of Kiffian upheaval within the Oakland hierarchy - Al Davis is clearly content to spend the rest of his days living down the mistake of drafting Russell and Tom Cable has nothing to do with how that plays out.
He isn't going anywhere. They made the decision when they drafted and paid him that he was going to be #1 for a long time.
Gotta hand it to ya Sexy - that is the craziest looking picture of the Crypt Keeper I have ever seen.
And lets not even bother comparing Big Ern McCracken to Al Davis - who was the Odour Eaters National Champ 1975?? Not Al Davis Sir... Not Al Davis.
by the HC and assistants comments the last couple of weeks about russell, it's pretty obvious to me that they have no idea what is going to 'fix' russell at this point so anyone holding out hope that russell is 'fixable', e-mail your ideas to the raiders coaching staff because they are out of ideas .....................
