Raiders coach Tom Cable said he knows what everyone's thinking about his quarterback situation, but don't look for a change anytime soon. Cable said they will "stay the course" with JaMarcus Russell as the Raiders' starting quarterback despite three subpar starts this season, and if the struggles drag on long enough, Cable said he might reconsider his decision but he did not sound close to wanting to make a switch, the reason? Cable said the offense's problems go way beyond one player, and that it's unfair to single out Russell when there are so many areas to clean up elsewhere. Source: SFChronicle
It's great to show confidence in your players, that you've got their back. But at the same time, the rest of the team has to be thinking "WHAT THE FREAK!?" Al Davis wants another high 1st round pick to add to his collection.
They're screwed with this guy behind center, I'm not sure how Al Davis does not see that because it is plain as day to everyone else.
Cris80, Al Davis is doing anything and everything to draft Taylor Mays in April! haha I don't know what the hell Tom Cable is smoking but it starts with "Your Quaterback!" This is why we only had THREE got damn points!
i don't think Cable/Davis have any confidence in the back-up qb's if they're not even considering their options. If they had somebody good behind him, they WOULD be thinking about it ....................
