The top priority for the Steelers: finding a way, any way, to beat the visiting San Diego Chargers on Sunday and avoid a dreaded 1-3 start for the first time since the 2006 season. What may be a close second is restoring the swagger to a defense that has been unmasked in the fourth quarter, dating to the Super Bowl in February. In the Steelers' past four games, opposing quarterbacks have completed 73 percent of their throws in the final 15 minutes and combined for four touchdown passes and the Steelers' inability to make a defensive stand in the fourth quarter is a big reason why they have squandered late leads in losing their past two games. eh, how much of this has to do with Polamalu being out? i think a lot of people underestimate how good he is and how much they miss him when he's out (ala Bob Sanders whenever he's out in Indy).
The Steelers have had trouble putting their opponents away in the Bruce Arians era, and it's coming back to burn us right now.
Still not overly concerned. A little? Yes. A lot? Not yet. The article dated all the way back......4 games. We are also 2-2 in those 4 games. We also won a ring in one of those games. The biggest thing is that without a ground game to run out that clock the teams are getting a chance with the ball at the end of the game. Wonder what Ben's completion percentage was in the 4th quarter last year. We won those close games last year and have lost two so far this year. Hoping the Steelers will turn that tide back in their favor in the coming weeks.
