Mike Singletary didn't question the play-calling of coordinator Jimmy Raye on San Francisco's last drive in Minnesota. It was a three-and-out that left Brett Favre with enough time, 1:29, to mount a stirring comeback that gave the Vikings a pulsating 27-24 victory. "It's very easy to sit here and look at a game and say 'Why did you do that?' " Singletary said Monday. "The bottom line is he (Raye) called the things he called yesterday because they made sense. You call plays because you believe they'll work. I'm not going to get into 'We should have done this.' We did it. It did not work."

he coached them to a victory before craziness stole the game. I would blame the DC before I blamed the OC

Well, he did make some stupid calls at times and also, we couldn't convert on key first downs as well. Had we converted one more single first down before Brett's drive, it would have been our game. Not saying the DC's not worth to blame because he is but the OC wasn't exactly sharp either.

I would have loved Mike to beat the Vikes/AP. As a matter of fact I picked the 49ers to win last week. OH well...

Well watching that game I was talking to afjay in IMs and my exact words to him was, "they're going to go with the prevent defense again and lose this game", I agree with Mike Oxlong, it's Greg Manusky that needs to step up and stop playing to just manage a lead and actually play to win a game damn it.

ok, well, Singletary brought Jimmy Raye in for a reason. He wants a very conservative offense. He's not going to criticize Raye. Raye will drive the 49er fans crazy, but he's doing exactly what Singletary wants him to do.
