It's week lucky 13!! Playoff scenarios are starting to develop and we're approaching the stretch run. Another season that goes by in a heartbeat. Cowboys play the Seahawks tonight in their first real test since the Eagles game. Then we get a nice 10-day rest for the Eagles re-match. Cowboys are 7-pt favorites which I think is fair. Seattle has not looked that sharp lately. Can't wait to read why this game doesn't count either, in case we cruise again. For sunday, Definitely the best game is Eagles vs. 49ers and I think I hate the 49ers more lately because I just don't care if we lose out on the division. I want the eagles to crush them. Texans Broncos is a game I didn't think I'd care about back in september but here we are. Playoff seeding on the line...who saw that coming?
I will be going to sleep a little after kickoff tonight so I won't be watching. I will dream of a Seahawks upset though. On Sunday for the early games, I'll have Dophins-Commanders on my tv and will probably start with Lions-Saints on my pc. 49ers-Eagles is a such huge game. There is so much bad blood between these teams because several 49er players called the Eagles lucky to beat them after last year's playoff game. As if it wasn't the 49ers fault for trying to block Hasaan Reddick with a TE and then a RB leading to 2 of their QBs being injured in the game. Deebo Samuel doubled down this past week by continuing to say that Bradberry is trash. The 49ers are obviously extremely good and I completely understand why they are favored in this game. They have had 10 days rest for the game and the Eagles had defensive players take over 90 snaps in their overtime victory over the Bills last week. Eagles also have a bunch of injuries to really good players. The key to beating SF seems to be to get up on them early and take away their running game. Purdy's numbers when trailing are pedestrian. I really hope the Eagles offense doesn't make the mistake they did against Buffalo last week and only give Swift 3 carries in the first half. Getting the running game going will be huge to keep the Niners' defensive line pass rush at bay. A gun to my head and I would definitely take the 49ers to win, but I'm hoping their lack of accountability after losses and inability to come back when down shows their true character.
I turned the TV off midway through the 3rd quarter when we were down 35-27. I thought there was no comeback from that. We haven't done that in years. So imagine my surprise 5 minutes ago when I saw that we won and not only that, Dak pretty much won it by himself. He threw his hat to the MVP talk either Stephen A. likes it or not. AmI starting to believe again? Can't wait for the Philly rematch.
You guys are gonna like this. Or probably not. As Sports Gambling is now legal in Florida, and the app allows one to parlay futures, I put $10 on Cowboys to win Super Bowl + Jayson Tatum to win NBA MVP. $10 wager comes back $800. With that said, here are my picks for Week 13... Week 13 College and NFL Pick ‘Em: SportsChump vs The Wife Hates Sports vs Rising Storms - Sports Chump
I didn’t watch the game last night but seemed like a fun one. It was worst case scenario for the Eagles. Dallas wins and Seattle’s offense was good. I was hoping if the Cowboys won that the Seahawks played poorly. Eagles game in Seattle 2 weeks from Monday is going to be tough.
It was the best TNF game of the season. Both teams had a full week's rest. The theory of sloppy football because of short rest holds up.
People expected the Cowboys to win in a blowout, as that's what they've done at home this season, but they managed to win a game in which they were down and operate pretty efficiently. They let Metcalf get off, but he was due. Cowboys are definitely top four in the NFC and are somehow still flying under the radar with all the attention paid to San Fran and Philly. Again, for 80 to 1, I'll take my chances on Tatum and Dallas. Drinks on me if that wager hits.
The thing about future bets is that I tend to forget about them. Last year I tried with 10 bucks to Dak for MVP for something like 8 to 1 odds. I completely forgot about it and only realized I had done that in the summer while looking at my betting history. Never say never, but it's not something that sounds exciting for me...
I'm having a blast on social media today: Random guy: the NFL has always been rigged in favor of the Cowboys. Me: Wait, what? The same Cowboys who lead the leage in penalties, and led it the year before that, and the year before that? The same Cowboys who haven't played in a Championship game since 1995? Random guy: yes. Me: Ok, then...what a terrible job they're doing...
Man, I hate the 49ers and not in the cool way. They're just too good. There are 3 top teams in the NFC and they have scored 84 combined to the other two. Unless they get hurt again, nobody will be able to stop them, and there's no one in the AFC either, after last night's Chiefs debacle. And don't get me started about their fans... This sucks.
Eagles reportedly have agreed to terms with Shaq Leonard. I don't know how good he is at this point but I have zero doubt that he's a huge upgrade to the garbage we trotted out there last night. Nick Morrow alone allowed 151 YAC last night.
At the end it was between the Eagles and Cowboys and he chose the team that was just destroyed 42-19. I feel like we dodged a bullet there...he was waived for a reason. Of course now he'll proceed to play at a pro-bowl level.
In the year of the backup QB, Trevor Lawrence has gone down. Not too serious but could miss a week or two. Those of us who still have our starter are the lucky ones.
Saving this for the week 14 thread (as a reminder) but the Cowboys, Eagles and 49ers have clinching scenarios already. Kind of complicated but doable this early.
Mike McCarthy is having emergency surgery today for apendicitis. Still expected to coach on sunday from the sideline. Take it easy, Coach.
