My American bosses gave me the rest of the week off starting tomorrow. Yay!! Thanksgiving week means the usual 3 games on thursday, starting with Bears vs. Lions. Suddenly the Lions are a must watch so I'll be following. They should have no problem, but you know...short weeks can cause wacky results. After that, it's time for one of my favorite gags from the 90s: RUSH!!! DE VITTO!!! It's thanksgiving football on Fox (I think it's Fox?). The Cowboys are favorites again and one more win suddenly puts us back in the playoff conversation. I'm just afraid this game catches us sleeping, like it almost always happens after tough, unexpected wins. But the Giants are pretty much dead and our defense should be enough to win a low scoring game. After that it's Dolphins vs. Packers. This should be a good one as the Dolphins seem to be getting their mojo back. Sunday games later if I have the time. Happy thanksgiving, Chuck and Chump!!
Very cool that you have off the rest of the week, TJ! Enjoy. I will probably have the early Thanksgiving games on in the background with the sound off. Most likely I'll watch the Dolphins-Packers. I hope the Dolphins offense keeps playing well. I'd love to see them beat Green Bay. I doubt I will watch the Raiders-Chiefs on Friday as I have a pretty busy day. Sunday: Cards at Vikings - Vikings have the #2 seed over the Eagles so we really need them to start losing. Titans at Commanders - The Eagles have some breathing room atop of the NFC East but you never know what can happen so I will have this on my other tv. Eagles at Ravens - This is such a compelling matchup. 2 teams with fantastic running games and very good passing as well. I think the Eagles defense is probably better than Baltimore's, but the Ravens offense is so unique that I have no idea how our young players will read and adjust. Should be a fun game! Happy Thanksgiving, guys!
Still not worse than Dak running a draw with 14 seconds left but yeah...at least Caleb has the excuse of being a rookie. Cowboys on a winning streak now. I forgot how those feel like.
Well, everybody seems to be blaming more the coach than Williams on this one. If the Bears had a time out, the coach can call it himself, so why didn't he? Williams said he got the play call, realized it wasn't going to work, and audibled out of it. His mistake was thinking he had enough time, which he didn't. Good call, but not the time for it. If he didn't like the play he should've called the time out himself. It's just a matter of incompetent coach and rookie QB. Very bad combo.
Hope everyone had a good one yesterday. Hope I have a good week this week. 2024 Week Thirteen College and NFL Pick ‘Em: Rising Storms Brewing - Sports Chump
I thought the team had been playing a little better under him lately, still losing but playing harder. I guess they had loftier expectations in that pretty difficult division. Either way, can't let yesterday happen.
The Chiefs black magic continues...or maybe they're really getting help from the refs. I don't know anymore.
The question is... do we continue to bet on them to win or will their luck run out? Either way, if it does run out, it looks like it'll have to be in Kansas City.
Excellent win by the Eagles. 8 in a row. The defense did such a good job in holding the Ravens to under 20 pts. Fangio really turned them around. Jalen Carter is a beast despite being held every play. I wish Hurts could get off to better starts. These slow 1st quarters may eventually catch up to them. Hopefully DaVonta Smith is back next week.
