You know it's almost over when the saturday games start. In the mean time, tonight we have Broncos vs. Chargers, two teams lurking the playoff picture. Should be a good one. On saturday it's Chiefs vs. Texans and Steelers vs. Ravens. As for sunday I got the sunday shift again at work so I won't be able to watch much...but after this they can't ask me to do it again until march, which is nice. On sunday night the Cowboys play the Buccaneers as 4-pt underdogs. We need to win out and get some help to make the playoffs (PLAYOFFS?!?!) so I don't expect much. It will be a good background to fall asleep to...
Not sure if I will catch either of the Saturday games as I'll be doing Christmas shopping. I'll be rooting Texans and Steelers though. On Sunday: Eagles at Commanders - After last week's big win against the Steelers, I hope there is no letdown in this game. Washington had the lead in the 4th quarter last time we played them, and Daniels was not 100% either. Our defense is much improved since then though. A win would wrap up the division. Lions at Bears - I will have my eye on this one as well. I'm still hoping the Eagles can get the #1 seed. Go Bears! Vikings at Seahawks - The Vikings still have the tiebreaker over the Eagles should they unseat the Lions. Go Hawks!
Part of the help we need is Washington losing so I'll be rooting for the Eagles and feeling dirty about it...
Here we go, boys, with more unpredictability.. https://sportschump.net/2024/12/20/...nd-nfl-pick-em-david-bradley-magic-fan/25641/
So that collapse by the Eagles has eliminated the Cowboys from the playoffs, so you have that Dawk...don't feel so bad...
What an awful self-inflicted loss by the Eagles, zero disrespect to Jayden Daniels. Clinching drops by AJ, Saquon, and DaVonta’s first of the year were killers. The defense with the several unsportsmanlike penalties were so unnecessary. Gardner-Johnson getting ejected because he can’t control his emotions really hurt the secondary late in the game. My guess is that Hurts won’t play next week if they are going to be cautious. Pickett is really bad and zero fun to watch.
Fools!! The higher the stakes, the worse we become. Having nothing to play for turns the Cowboys into the 2007 Patriots!! They're unstoppable!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! (That's actually pretty sad...)
If I had a penny for each time the Atlanta Falcons started an african american, left handed QB with a last name a letter short of a name for male genitalia, I would have two pennies...which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice already. (I stole this joke).
The Cowboys hurt themselves with that win since they were eliminated. I hope they don't next week though as I want the Eagles to sit their starters in the last week.
Contrary to many folks who want a high draft pick, I don't. They pick better in the middle of the first round, or on the 20s. Last time we had a top 5 pick they used it on Ezekiel Freakin' Elliot whose prime lasted 3 years, and then got paid while destroying our salary cap AGAIN. No thanks. Give me the anonymous guard in pick 14 or whatever.
All jokes aside, though, you have to give credit to Mike McCarthy and his staff. I remember the days when Romo went down, or Tyron Smith went down, or a WR went down...or even when Dak himself went down, and we were doomed. This Cowboys team is playing well and most importantly, playing HARD with Cooper Rush and an OL put together with duct tape. Maybe McCarthy will get an extension after all...and I wouldn't be completely against it.
