It's been a busy holiday season and I'm not really sure who's in, who's out (besides the Cowboys, of course) and all that. We have 2 games on saturday: Browns vs. Ravens and Bengals vs. Steelers. Ravens are 19.5 point favorites. Ok!! On sunday, the Cowboys close a miserable season at home against Washington who I'm not sure if they have something to play for. The Chiefs will rest everybody against Denver who needs a win, and the last game of the season, on sunday night, is Vikings vs. Lions for the NFC North crown and the #1 seed so should be a good one. Playoff challenge begins next week. Yay!!
I can't believe it's the last week of the season. The Eagles will be playing either the Packers or the Commanders in the first round. I think I'd prefer them play the Commanders. For that to happen, Washington needs to lose to Dallas and Packers beat the Bears. I'll be keeping an eye on those two games in addition to watching the Eagles backups during the early games. In the late games, I'll be rooting for the Dolphins to sneak into the playoffs. They will need to beat the Jets, along with the Chiefs backups beating the Broncos. I'm sure I'll be sleeping for most of the big Vikings-Lions showdown.
Cooper Rush has some incentives in his contract that he could hit this week so of course NOW the Cowboys are starting Trey Lance "to see what he has".

Jerry Jones said he didn't know about Rush's contract and its incentives. This is where I remind you that Jerry IS the GENERAL MANAGER of the Dallas Cowboys, in order to know what he pays for. He didn't know that. Let me rephrase that: the acting General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys claimed he didn't know about his QB contract or what was in it. Don't know about you, but I think he should be fired...
The Denver Broncos have made the playoffs despite a record $89 Million of total dead cap, the largest single season dead cap hit in NFL history. The cap is fake.
I think there might have been some lingering Brady cap hit last year but not in 2024. Structurally, this team is pretty sound. I think they'll have a decision to make on Godwin next year but otherwise, we shouldn't be in that much trouble cap-wise.
I was surprised how dominant the Lions were last night. All of those injuries and they continue to be a machine. Eagles get the Packers next Saturday. Love left the game yesterday but it seems mostly precautionary. Christian Watson may be out though. Week 1 was a good game between these two teams.
Here's an interesting twist: The Bears have requested permission from the Cowboys to interview Mike McCarthy. As far as I know, McCarthy is a free agent...unless he's still under contract until february so it would make sense. It will be very interesting to know what happens here...
