So...those Yankees torpedo bats. I hate that they are allowed. I admit that part of my dislike is because it is the Yankees that are the team taking advantage. I know players from other teams can use them too, and I don't like the idea of that either. It seems like it could break a lot of long standing records. I hope they end up banning them.
Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, Bryson Stott, and Brandon Marsh have all placed orders for torpedo bats with Victus, per source. LOL
The Mariners also are ordering the torpedo bats. It will be hilarious when they still can't hit anything with them. My take is...back in my day players didn't use torpedo bats. They took steroids, like real men!! I don't want to see football scores like 20-14 or something. Like Dawk said, I don't want to see old records fall just like that. I get it, though...baseball's popularity is at an all-time low and the last time it was like that (after the '94 strike) they brought the HR chase in '98. So yeah...they'll try it again.
The Dodgers are 8-0. No other world champion has done that before. They are off today and go to Philly tomorrow for a 3 game set against the Phillies. Despite being 8-0, LA is only a half game ahead of the Padres who are 7-0. The Giants are 5-1 and the D-Backs are 4-2. What a start for that entire division with the exception of the 1-4 Rockies. NL East favorite Braves are 0-7. I love it.
Vlad Jr signs a 14 year, $500M extension with the Blue Jays. The length of contracts these days is ridiculous.
Mariners first order of torpedo bats has arrived. Randy Arozarena loves them after one practice. Julio not so much. Cal Raleigh is still on the fence. It will be hillarious when they still get 1-hit every other night with them.
