Linebacker Jeff Ulbrich's playing career ended Oct. 11 when he sustained a severe concussion while running down the field to cover a kickoff against the Atlanta Falcons. Ulbrich, who made a comfortable living during his 10 seasons with the 49ers, has decided to retire from the sport and pursue a career in coaching, he told The Press Democrat on Wednesday.
