49ers cornerback Dre' Bly stood in front of the press today and apologized for fumbling after an incerception thanks to an untimely celebration. He intercepted a pass by Matt Ryan in the third quarter and struck a Deion Sanders-like pose with his right hand to his helmet and the ball unprotected in his left when Roddy White knocked the ball loose and Atlanta, leading 35-10 at the time, recovered and then marched downfield and quickly scored again. Bly said he approached Singletary on Monday morning to apologize for the display, which also included him saying after the game that he'd done nothing wrong because "Dre's going to be Dre'." "I want to publicly apologize for yesterday. My comments were totally inappropriate. I apologized to coach, I'm not a selfish guy," Bly said Monday. "I didn't mean to embarrass him if I did, embarrass my team, embarrass the ownership, embarrass the fans. I'm a prideful guy. I like to have fun. I got caught up in the moment and it was wrong."

Apology is nice, but you can tell he didn't really give a crap by his comments after the game yesterday.

And double the props for not talking about himself in the 3rd person like he did when he was being a douche.

He should apologize, of course but the real story is Singletary getting an 11 year vet to pull his head out of his butt. Unique in this day & age to have that kind of respect for a coach that a vet would be 'influenced' in changing his tune about such a stupid play.

I especially liked that Mike added that little kick in the butt after the apology about what's fun & what's not. He never backed down on the field & he's not going to start now. I know a lot of Bear fans that were wishing his first HC job would be in Chicago & this just cements the reason why.

    DoubleC i'm ready now...

What's puzzling with this team is that our two oldest CBs (and by much) are also the worst.
Just play Tarell Brown with Spencer, already.
