Matt Maiocco is reporting that San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Demarcus Dobbs has officially been reinstated from the team's reserve/suspended list. Per Maiocco, the 49ers have been granted a one-day roster exemption to determine who they will release from the roster. With Dobbs back, the team currently has 54 players on their active roster. Dobbs was suspended for his DUI incident last fall. Through the preseason, he appeared to join Glenn Dorsey as the primary backups behind Justin Smith and Ray McDonald. Source: SBNation.com
