Free safety Eric Reid said he’s passed initial baseline tests in the wake of a concussion that knocked him out of the 49ers’ loss at Seattle, putting him on track to play this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

Reid, the 49ers’ first-round draft pick this year, hasn’t experienced any lingering symptoms from his second-quarter tackle of Sidney Rice.

Reid said he initially didn’t recall that play as trainers tended to him on the field, but that it came back to him during an encouraging evaluation in the locker room.

“I had no headache, felt perfectly normal and wanted to go back and play, but they hid my helmet somewhere,†Reid said of the eventual 29-3 defeat.

Reid led with his shoulder but took a glancing blow to his helmet when he brought down Rice on a 13-yard gain. “After watching on film, it didn’t look like a bad hit,†said Reid, noting he didn’t sustain any concussions during his four seasons at LSU.

Hopefully no symptoms come about before the game. He's having a good year so far
