When news broke that the San Francisco 49ers were down to Chip Kelly and Mike Shanahan as their head coaching finalists, one thought emerged: They're not ready to discard Colin Kaepernick. We shall see if that proves to be true, but when the 49ers announced Thursday that they had hired Kelly, it stirred the imagination of what could be with a rare talent at QB and a creative offensive mind. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...at-happens-to-colin-kaepernick-184713321.html
@ragman I'm thinking the difference is one took a team to multi conf. games and a super bowl while the other set a franchise back 5yrs?
Guess Kaepernick is going nowhere. Wonder if they'll restructure his contract. This will either turn the 49ers into a juggernaut, or the laughingstock of the league...with no in-between.
It just seems to me that York got rid of 1 control freak in Harbaugh and replaced him with another control freak in Kelly.
He'll get them, it's an ideal situation for it. Baalkes at the end of his leash, if the next draft is anything short of spectacular (which by track record, has about a powerball chance of happening), there's going to be a wide open festering pus filled hole for Chip to worm his way in through, and he knows it. Ownership is weak, he's surely confident he can game the situation. If that's not his play, he's a Tomsula caliber chump.
