49ers LB Aldon Smith Fined $15K For Late Hit On Lions QB Matthew Stafford

  1. 49ers rookie OLB Aldon Smith was fined $15,000 for his hit on quarterback Matthew Stafford in last week's win over the Lions. Smith has 5.5 sacks over the his past three games rotating with OLB Parys Haralson in the 49ers base 3-4 defense. The fine draws from a below the knee tackle on Stafford that resulted in a 15-yard penalty for roughing the passer. The league has also fined Brandon Pettigrew $7,500 for a chop block in the same game.

Yeah I thought it mighta been a mistake.. Harrison got what, 50 last year and everyone flipped crap? No way, for 150 he would probably have to make an obvious attempt on someone's life. Last Boy Scout style..

If the fine was 150k I would have been calling for Goodell's head. Anyways 15k is a little more reasonable...
