49ers rookie OLB Aldon Smith was fined $15,000 for his hit on quarterback Matthew Stafford in last week's win over the Lions. Smith has 5.5 sacks over the his past three games rotating with OLB Parys Haralson in the 49ers base 3-4 defense. The fine draws from a below the knee tackle on Stafford that resulted in a 15-yard penalty for roughing the passer. The league has also fined Brandon Pettigrew $7,500 for a chop block in the same game. Source: RotoTimes
Thank god he's got the right to appeal. $150,000 fine? For a second, I thought my eyes where playing tricks with me when I read that.
Another source said $15,000 which I think is right, $150,000 is a tad ridiculous...lol Aldon Smith fine $15,000 for hit on Stafford
Yeah I thought it mighta been a mistake.. Harrison got what, 50 last year and everyone flipped crap? No way, for 150 he would probably have to make an obvious attempt on someone's life. Last Boy Scout style..
If the fine was 150k I would have been calling for Goodell's head. Anyways 15k is a little more reasonable...
My eyes damn nearly popped out of my head when it said $150,000, lol. $15,000 is still ridiculus but a lot better then $150,000.
