49ers LB Manny Lawson is not expected to attend the team's set of voluntary workouts next week as he continues to be unhappy with his current contract status, according to Matt Maiocco, of CSNBayArea.com. His deal is set to expire at the end of the season and the sides are not working toward an extension. His absence leaves the door wide open for the likes of Ahmad Brooks, Travis LaBoy, Diyral Briggs and Martail Burnett -- as well as the undrafted rookies -- to capitalize on the increased practice time. +1 if only he had matched the great expectations we had for him....... he's not a great player. he's a good one but nothing more
He hasn't really been dominant as they thought he was going to be, he should probably just show up and practice more, otherwise he's going to find himself out of a job.
