Patrick Willis has had his share of bumps and bruises over the years, and the 49ers hope his injury sustained Sunday turns out to be just that. Willis, widely regarded as one of the best inside linebackers in the league, left Sunday's 27-7 loss against the Colts with a groin injury, the 49ers report via Twitter. The All-Pro linebacker underwent surgery in August to repair a fractured right hand suffered in training camp, and didn't play the remainder of the 2013 preseason. A six-time Pro Bowler, Willis has a long history of hand injuries dating to his college years at Mississippi. He played through broken hands in 2007 and 2010 with San Francisco. Source: Sporting News
