The San Francisco 49ers are sifting through some options at punt returner this offseason looking to give their special teams unit a boost. The Niners averaged only 4.4 yards per return last season, according to the Sacramento Bee, and Mike Singletary is intent on improving that element. Brandon Jones is the lone returner to return this season. He has competition from Ted Ginn Jr., who they acquired in a trade from the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Kyle Williams and cornerback LeRoy Vann, an undrafted free agent. "I don't care how fast he is. I don't care how many guys he can make miss," Singletary said. "If he can catch the ball, that's step number one. Whatever comes after that, if we can get five yards, that's fine, but just don't drop the ball. Ball security is No. 1."
